Walter will install the first 200m of the trunk conveyor system manufactured by Continental and development contractors Roche Mining will complete the installation under a separate driveage contract.
Roche, awarded a $30 million development contract in January, will drive the headings and extend the conveyor system in seven belt moves. Continental will design and supply the conveyor system hardware.
The contract is a duplication of the first stage upgrade completed last year. The joint venture installed a 1600mm belt trunk conveyor, incorporating variable frequency drives, 2xMMD Sizers and a dewatering station.
