It announced recently it would make available the full range of products from British manufacturer Wolf Safety Lamp Company during the remainder of 2001.
The Wolf HL-95 is said to feature a fore and aft display of a bright steady or flashing light which can last for up to six months on a single battery. Approved for use in hazard zones where the environment poses a risk of explosion or fire, the semi-portable, free-standing hazard lamp is a “must” for flagging obstacles and dangers, according to Whyte-Hall.
Ignition-safe illumination is provided in the HL-95 by two light-emitting diodes. Output of the LEDs exceeds two candela, which meets the requirements of AS1165 “Traffic hazard warning lamps”
To power the HL-95, Wolf has exploited air-depolarised primary cell technology to pack a big punch in a small, lightweight battery. Switched to flashing mode, the lamp flashes 60 times a minute for up to 1500 hours (about two months) continuous operation, while activated as a steady light, it is said to last 500 hours. In “dusk to dawn” mode, it will run for up to six months.
The 2.9kg HL-95 is heavily armoured, with a polypropylene body, polycarbonate lenses and a stainless steel grill. It comes with a locking key.
