Manchin planning field hearing on coal

The event is set for September 4 beginning at 9.30am at West Virginia University’s Erickson Alumni Center Kennedy Club Room.

The speaker itinerary is still being developed, however, the main theme of the hearing is to examine the state of coal-fired electricity in the nation’s power markets. It will also look at future challenges and opportunities for the coal industry.

Manchin, a Democrat, is chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources’ Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests, and Mining.
