The firm did not indicate the date for her placement, but confirmed Burget would oversee and manage its US-based environmental practice.
Burget, a graduate of Augustana College, brings 34 years of experience in mining and energy, particularly environmental issues and management and regulatory affairs.
In addition to her 29-year tenure at Peabody, where she managed permitting and environmental compliance for four major surface mining operations and served as the environmental lead for its federal coal leasing efforts, Burget also served in management roles with Safety Management Systems and Thunder Basin Coal.
Her background also includes air quality inventories and permits development, emission control strategies and due diligence evaluations, and permitting on federal, state and local levels.
Government relations and regulatory affairs also are on her resume, as are leasing policy issues and community relations.
Burget will be based in Norwest’s Salt Lake City, Utah, office.
