The latest version provides users with better connectivity and enhanced middleware capabilities, as well as improved performance and usability, Citect said.

“Plant2Business Version 2 now offers an even more efficient and cost-effective way for users to integrate many existing or legacy plant controls systems with the rest of the business enterprise,” Wayne Morris, CEO of Ci Technologies Inc, said.

"With the introduction of support for Intellution’s Fix32 and iFix as well as Citect systems, we have greatly expanded the versatility and value of Plant2Business to companies in a broad range of industrial sectors.”

Pre-built connectors to Oracle, SQL Server and Citect databases are also fully integrated, and plant floor data can be made available to web-based clients through the Plant2NET component, making Plant2Business Solutions a powerful and high-value solution.

At the heart of Plant2Business Solutions are two key components: Plant2Business Server and Plant2NET. Plant2Business Server facilitates the business-wide sharing of plant information through a single easy-to-use interface, native connectors, and a high-performance event engine.

Industry standard applications including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel and Crystal Reports are used for client applications. For example, the Crystal Reports generator connects directly and easily to Plant2Business Server, enabling customers using this product to produce a complete range of custom or user defined reports to suit the unique needs of their business organizations. Plant2NET further expands the power and versatility of Plant2Business Server by making plant floor data available to web-based clients.

New Features in Plant2Business Version 2.0:

- Connection and support for multiple plant control systems including both Intellution (Fix32 and iFix) and Citect systems. This allows users to display data from different areas of the plant, or different systems around the world, in a single user interface.

- Plant-floor data transferred to Oracle, Citect or SQL Server databases can be easily viewed and analysed with Plant2NET and web-based clients.

- Improved performance of task execution particularly on multi-processor servers.

- Usability enhancements include easier creation of user favorites, improved installation, Report and Excel client GUI and expanded documentation.

Other new features include support for time stamped alarms, automatic data conversion and improved data filtering.
