Coal train turns over in Florida, catches fire

According to local news wire Cox Media, the incident occurred in Fernindina Beach, Nassau County, and involved local carrier First Coast Railroad.

The train was reportedly heading to a nearby mill at a slow rate of speed when two cars left the tracks.

The total amount of lost coal is unknown.

The train fire, which was called in to fire rescue crews at about 3.42pm, has been extinguished.

Clean-up was still underway Monday, and officials have started an investigation into the incident’s cause.
