RAPS manufactures Dodge CST (Controlled Start Transmission) and Reliance electric AC and DC motors.

“Rick has a number of years of hands-on experience with Dodge and Reliance products though his previous role as conveyer engineer with Moranbah North and Oaky No. 1 mines,” the company said.

“He will be working closely with end users, major OEM’s as well as the distributor promoting the Dodge and Reliance brands.”

This appointment rounds out a year of change for RAPS in Australia following the appointment earlier this year of Conveyor Engineering Solutions (CES) as the importer/distributor for Dodge CST and large AC and DC motors and drives from Reliance.

“The appointment of CES as distributor was seen as an opportunity to offer more options to end-users while opening up possibilities to gain business in other non-coal mining operations,” RAPS said, adding that it acknowledges the efforts of the former distributor, Continental Conveyor for its part in the success of the Dodge CST in the Australian coal industry. Over 140 CST power units have been supplied by Continental to the Australian market.

RAPS said Continental continues to support the CST with sales, service and system integration capability as they always have. The change in distributor simply means other conveyor OEM’s now also have access to this product.
