Entitled Mining: It’s About the People, the meeting will convene at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center.

It follows a successful meeting and exhibition in Seattle, Washington, last February.

The exhibition will begin with a reception for exhibitors.

There will be dozens of short courses and technical discussions covering categories such as coal and energy, environmental topics, mining and exploration, construction materials and aggregates, industrial minerals, and mineral and metallurgical processing.

Exhibitors included:

CSE

For more than 40 years, the CSE Corporation has been a leader in self-contained, self-rescuer (SCSR) development and technology.

The company launched its Train the Trainer program in June.

Since then more than 200 safety trainers and personnel have completed its hands-on training.

“True mine safety has long been the foundation of this company,” chief executive officer Scott Shearer said.

“When we launched our SRLD unit we made sure it was accompanied by a detailed, comprehensive safety and training program that included instructional videos and easy-to-follow instructions. These elements, in addition to our comprehensive Train the Trainer program and the hands-on support of more than a dozen field sales representatives and service professionals have assisted the industry to remain truly compliant.”

The Train the Trainer program was developed using feedback from industry leaders and safety and training personnel. Successful program participants are given a certificate of completion at the end of each session.

Strata Worldwide

Strata Worldwide has grown and expanded its product line over the past year and has new products to showcase at this year’s exhibition.

Through recently established partnerships with Trolex and Draeger, Strata offers advanced options in underground and personal gas monitoring.

Flexible fixed sensor systems from Trolex provide multi-function monitoring capabilities, including atmospheric monitoring, machine monitoring and methane recovery monitoring.

From Draeger, Strata brings a line of personal gas detection devices which are equipped with high-performance sensors that offer the most longevity on the market. Draeger oxygen sensors last up to five years.

Strata will feature its mine safety products, such as emergency refuge chambers, proximity detection and collision avoidance, wireless communications and tracking and cordless cap lamps.

CAB

CAB has been supplying the mining industry with hangers and mine safety products for more than 40 years.

The hangers are widely recognized for their high strength, quality and safety features. They are designed to safely support all types of sensor, data, control, communication and electrical cables in above and below ground operations.

CAB has expanded its line of mine safety products, such as high-visibility streamers, markers, tubes, bags, apparel and rescue tag lines.

CAB also is recognized as the industry leader for high-visibility aircraft cable and rope lifelines for emergency escape in underground mines.
