No injuries in Maryland coal train derailment

INVESTIGATORS are looking into the cause of a 73-car CSX coal train derailment in western Maryland.

According to the Associated Press, the incident occurred on Monday and clean-up was ongoing by Wednesday evening in Bloomington.

The train was traveling in West Virginia from Grafton to Mount Storm, in the northern region of the state.

CSX and Federal Railroad Administration officials were still examining the derailment on Thursday.

The AP reported that a derailment in a nearby location in 2000 destroyed a home and killed a 15-year-old boy.

CSX did not release public comment on the incident.
