The larger magnets, referred to formally as “BAMs”, are available with magnet sizes starting at 90 square inches (228.6 centimeters). These are ideal for processing operations that use wide, high-tonnage conveyor belts with deep burden depths.

“These larger magnets remove oversized pieces of tramp metal that represent a hazard to downstream crushers, mills, pulverizers and grinders,” the company said.

“The BAMs also remove sharp metal that can damage or tear conveyor belts, especially at transfer points.”

As with other models in the SE 7000 line, Eriez’s BAMs are available with a five-year warranty on the coil assembly. The larger SE magnets also feature the company’s exclusive external oil expansion tank to assure fully immersed coils for better performance and longer life.

BAMs are available in Self Clean style as well, which uses a short-belt conveyor built around the magnet to effect automatic removal of tramp iron from the magnet face.

Based in Erie, Pennsylvania, Eriez manufactures and markets from 12 international facilities on six continents.
