The event organized by the Texas Mine Safety and Health Program is being held at the Peabody Little Rock hotel.
In addition to a keynote presentation on safety awareness solutions by industrial accident survivor Eric Giguere, the workshop plans to discuss a host of industry topics including contractor liability, mobile equipment, data management, lock-out/tag-out issues, silicosis and dust exposure and learning styles for new and existing miners.
On the final day of the conference a discussion group will focus on the regulatory role of the US Mine Safety and Health Administration and health and safety issues facing the mining industry.
