The contest will again be held at the Ohio Department of Natural Resource’s Jerry L Stewart Mine Safety Training Center in Cadiz, about an hour’s drive from Wheeling, West Virginia.
The event will consist of four events. June 4 will include the first aid and bench contests, while the mine rescue contest has been set for June 5.
The pre-shift competition and an awards banquet will wrap up the competition on June 6.
Judges will be provided by ODNR Mine Safety, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Deep Mine Safety, the West Virginia Office of Miners’ Health Safety and Training and the US Mine Safety and Health Administration.
All Post 6 competitions will be governed by the 2013 National Mine Rescue, Bench, First Aid and Pre-Shift contest rules.
The event’s organizers have set up a website at www.nmrapost6.com for teams wishing to learn more or wanting to register.
