The event will be hosted at The Pavilion in Marion, and includes a show and technical sessions. A membership meeting and banquet are also scheduled.
“The event attracts more than 900 people and 65 vendors representing the region’s mining industry who participate in technical sessions to learn of new trends, view the latest products and network,” IMI president Mike Caldwell said.
“We are encouraging everyone to sign up online in advance so we are fully prepared.”
IMI 2013 will feature a mine rescue competition at the annual event. That contest normally attracts more than 30 teams from across the Illinois Basin region.
That event is sponsored by the Illinois Mine Rescue Association.
The IMI was founded in 1892 to provide technical support, education and information transfer to the industry.
Its members represent mining interests in Illinois as well as southern Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and other US states.
