B&W officials said the joint venturers would replace turbine rotors and boiler pressure parts and balance of plant equipment as well as offer construction services for the upgrade.
They said pressure parts for the boiler at the 697 megawatt facility in Ottumwa, Iowa, would be designed and supplied by B&W.
The joint venturers were awarded another contract last year to engineer, procure and construct the plant`s environmental control systems.
Material delivery for the turbine rotor and other equipment is scheduled for July 2014.
“We've been working closely with Burns and McDonnell to deliver outstanding service to our customer on this important EPC project,” North Carolina-based B&W president and chief operating officer J Randall Data said.
“We appreciate the confidence IPL has shown in again selecting our team for work at the Ottumwa plant.”
The auxiliary equipment replacement will be performed concurrently with the plant's previously planned environmental upgrades.
