According to news outlet WNEM, about 45 workers were vacated from the Consumers Energy Karn-Weadock plant in Bay County after the fire broke out in the Karn Unit Two bunker dust collector.

No one was injured.

Company spokeswoman Mary Kulis said the complex had six generating units that served about 1 million customers, and two of those units were shut down due to the fire.

She said no service was lost during the incident.

“We do take precautions to minimize any dust collection that might occur, so we will be investigating this incident,” Kulis said.
