PART 2 - Hidden costs of health
Privacy laws and voluntary early retirement payouts are believed to be one of the unseen reasons behind the termination of an estimated 30 to 50 coal miners in Queensland every year. There may well be a similar number or persons affected in the metalliferous mine, quarries and extractive industries and until there is a structure to capture and analyse the information the true figures will remain unknown.
