Bridger is seeking to add 320 acres of federal-administered land to its holdings in a checkerboard region of mixed public, private and state-owned land.
The modified lease, known formally as WYW154595, neighbors its current permit boundary.
The permit covers about 26,691 acres of Bridger-leased land east of Sweetwater County road 15, approximately 35 miles northeast of Rock Springs.
Bridger is also proposing to conduct underground mining on connecting private land.
The BLM has set a January 25 deadline for comments on the proposal’s environmental assessment. All input must be received via email, mail or hand delivery and note the modification filing number.
The agency reminded those submitting comments that the entire body of their submission, including identifying details, may be made publicly available at any time.
