Officials said the transition to the new building, a structure erected by China’s Ministry of Coal and owned by the China Coal Association, will enhance its ability to “connect to policy and decision making on a ministry level” while also strengthening business ties with its neighbors and nearby companies Shenhua Group, China Chengtong Metal, Tianjin Fuhao and China Australia Coal Technology.
The move will be made just after the New Year holiday.
L&L has organized a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening, and planned guests include government officials and senior representatives from Datang Power, China Chengtong Metals, Tianjin Fuhao and AVIC Coal Logistics.
L&L director Jingcai Yang, a former Shenhua senior executive, will serve as an initial guide at the Beijing office to increase business and future sales there.
“We have already established a strong operational foundation in Yunnan and Guizhou,” chairman and chief executive officer Dickson Lee said.
“This strategic move to Beijing will increase our exposure to capital and new customers who are headquartered nearby."
Lee also noted that, as a US company operating in China, it had an unique advantageous platform that gave it access to American technology and skills, both of which would be in demand as China continued industry standards and efficiencies improvements.
“Our new Beijing headquarters will play a key role in L&L's ability to stay at the forefront of this changing regulatory environment,” he said.
