Late last week the country’s largest coal advocacy group said the safety and health management system toolbox would provide education and assistance to companies on how to develop, implement and run their personal SHMS at their site, tying together safety variables that would result in safety success that was both continuous and sustained.
The new toolbox is designed to work in tandem with its first CoreSafety toolbox, the culture enhancement toolbox, released last fall.
“We hope companies find these tools useful and practical for integrating CoreSafety into their safety and health management practices and we welcome feedback on their experience with the latest iteration of our state-of-the-art safety and health initiative," NMA president and chief executive officer Hal Quinn said.
CoreSafety has been developed to help provide a comprehensive pathway for operations across the mining industry to achieve zero fatalities and a 50% reduction in mining injuries within five years.
