The agency said earlier this month that it would conduct an initial meeting on July 31, and has added another event August 4 from 1pm to 4.30pm local time in Lakewood.
Both workshops will focus on how to interpret BLM land records, how to locate and file a mining claim or site, what is required to maintain a claim or site, as well as the applicable fees.
It will also cover BLM’s definitions of activity levels and the associated state and federal requirements.
Time will also be provided to answer any questions regarding mining claim/site filings.
The US BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, and administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation.
For attendees not in Colorado, the BLM has a number of helpful resources online at www.blm.gov/co/st/en/BLM_Programs/minerals.html.
