Among his responsibilities for the Pennsylvania company will be increasing underground mining’s demand for the company’s replacement parts, expanding its presence geographically and the construction of a national distribution network.

Wotring, who has served in sales management and engineering seats across the industry, has also been tasked to oversee new development and uses of replacement parts for mining applications working with distributors as well as mines.

“Combining Irwin’s production capabilities with Bud’s extensive background in sales and engineering allows us to significantly increase the product line offering we can provide our mining customers,” president and chief executive officer William Baker said.

“As demand for coal increases worldwide, we are in a position of strength to meet the specific requirements of customers who need standard and customized replacement parts to help maximize production.”

Irwin Car and Equipment’s products include low-boy carrier cars, supply cars, roof transport cars, ballast cars, belt winders, constant tension winches, mobile mine ventilation systems, rock duster systems, drills, locomotives, personnel carriers, hydraulic filter systems, and filter elements.
