The DriBoss DBE-750 evaporator, driven by a powerful 25-horsepower industrial-grade motor, features a high-speed head with patented stainless steel fan blades to create optimal droplet distribution.
At the same time, the unit’s low plume height helps ensure short drift distances, making it well-suited to smaller areas.
Ideal for a variety of industries, the new model aids in quick, cost-efficient wastewater elimination, even without large evaporation ponds.
DCT officials said the company was looking at mining and mineral processing applications for the evaporator as well as quarrying, desalination and oil and gas, to add to its current water treatment facility applications.
“This is a design that represents the culmination of ten years [of] experience in severe outdoor and industrial environments,” chief executive officer Edwin Peterson said.
“The 7.5HP submersible pump is attached to a frame that floats on polyethylene pontoons, which are filled with closed-cell urethane foam.
“So even if a pontoon is accidentally punctured, it still delivers the buoyancy to keep the unit afloat.”
The DBE-750 can pass particles as large as 3/16 inches (4.7 millimeters) in diameter without clogging or fouling nozzles, reducing the need for pre-filtering or cleaning dirty elements.
The unit’s industrial-strength construction includes UV-stabilized pontoons and a stainless steel control panel, motor enclosure and manifold, permit extended reliability and a long service life.
DCT said its engineers designed the new release with a limited amount of exposed surface area, which aided in debris and ice build-up control and kept maintenance to a minimum and its motor bearings were sealed and lubricated for life.
The evaporator also has a vibration sensor to detect an unbalanced condition, which will shut down the motor and help to protect the unit from catastrophic failure in cases of extreme weather.
The DBE-750 comes as standard with a heavy-duty electric motor for 3-phase/480 volt/60-cycle and 3-phase/400V/50-cycle operation.
Other motor voltages are available upon request and DCT has available options including a protective coating for acidic or extremely alkaline water conditions and a special scale-resistant coating on the fan to further reduce residue build-up on blades.
The company also offers a sure-flow filter option that delivers constant backflushing of the pump inlet filter media.
