The company last week said it would officially celebrate 75 years in October with an event in Huntington, West Virginia for employees, family and other special guests.
“We are proud that for 75 years, Fletcher has provided equipment to the underground mining industry that enhances the safety of the work environment and increases productivity,” chief executive officer Greg Hinshaw said.
“We are blessed with a strong supplier base, dedicated employees and customers who appreciate the value of our products and services.”
Looking ahead, the executive said Fletcher’s increasing worldwide presence and overall breadth was leaving the company rich with opportunity.
“Our experience and expertise give us a firm foundation as we look confidently to the future,” he said.
The equipment maker was founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1937 but moved to its current headquarters in Huntington in the 1940s.
It first began as a maker of rubber-tired technology for the mining industry, later adding roof bolter production.
The company added an industrial mineral and rock division to its line in 2000.
