The company said it had retained consultant Norwest to review the most recent results from its exploration drilling and to prepare updates for Huguenot’s National Instrument 43-101 technical report as it moved ahead to a July start on its drill programs.

The company is looking for the primary targets contained within the Gates formation.

Officials said the report would update all the results previously reported for the North block.

It will also delineate all prior material results for the property’s Middle and South blocks.

At the moment only historical information was available, which would be combined with data from its exploration work last year.

For the remainder of the year, Colonial budgeted $2.5-3 million for additional exploration at Huguenot.

Ongoing environmental baseline studies and data collection work was budgeted at about $650,000.

The producer also reported it had retained the funding to proceed with its Flatbed project near Tumbler Ridge, which is located in the area of the current Quintette and former Trend coal mines.

“[We will] proceed with a significant exploration program once coal licenses are granted and appropriate work permits are obtained,” it said.
