The release has been designed for use in industries with a specific focus on safety and availability and where a blast or fire risk exists.
Company officials said one of the ideal uses for the nodes was in the oil and gas utilities sector.
“As we continue to evolve and expand the family of Breadcrumb devices for new markets and applications, customers have expressed a need for network nodes that can operate in an explosive environment,” founder and chief executive Robert Schena said.
“Extending the utility and durability of network nodes ensures optimal availability when connectivity matters most.”
Rajant’s systems are based on the flexible, resilient combination of its BreadCrumb wireless, portable mesh networking nodes and InstaMesh software, which work in tandem to enable continuous and instantaneous routing of wireless and wired connections.
The full utilization capability allows for total network mobility, known as kinetic meshing.
Rajant said the BreadCrumb LX4-2954-EX would be available for shipment to customers in 90 days.
The company’s products, in addition to mining, have been placed across the oil and gas, military, telcos industries and are also used by municipalities and first responders.
