Yu Jia Liang sets production record

This is a mine record dating back from installation of the first longwall in January 2001. The longwall produced 5.6 million tonnes in calendar year 2001.

The longwall cuts at a height of 4m and is 245m wide. The mine operates with 248 employees.

Yu Jia Liang is owned by Shendong Coal Company, part of the Shenhua Group and is located in a remote part of Shaanxi Province, 1000km to the west of Beijing, China.

The Shendong Coal Company have four longwall mines, Daliuta #1, Daliuta #2 (Huojitu), Bulianta and Yu Jia Liang. They will open their fifth longwall operation, Sun Jia Gou mine later this year.

The Shendong longwalls operate with nine Joy 6LS shearers (two are currently being delivered) and have recently ordered their first 7LS shearer for delivery at the end of 2002.
