The high capacity AOC enables MacAir to operate any size aircraft and paves the way for MacAir’s ongoing expansion.

“This outcome was achieved through the dedication of MacAir employees and by meeting the stringent regulatory requirements in close consultation with CASA throughout the process,” MacAir Airlines general manager Kevin Gill said.

The first aircraft that will operate under the High Capacity AOC is the state of the art ATR 42-500, which was introduced into service last week.

The MacAir ATR 42-500, the largest aircraft in the carrier’s fleet, will also be used to support several fly-in, fly-out services to remote mining communities in outback Queensland.

The ATR 42-500 joins MacAir’s fleet of 6 SAAB 340B aircraft and 4 Fairchild Metro 23’s.
