The company owns two coal mining sites in South Sumatra with an estimated reserve of about 400Mt, according to Reuters reports.
It is in discussions with a German company to build a $400 million conveyor system, capable of moving 10Mt of coal each year from the mines to supply power monopoly Perusahaan Listrik Negara in either Lampung or Java.
Hanson Energy director Harun Setiawan Boedi told Reuters the company has a letter of interest accepted from a German company and is now looking at possible funding sources.
