Now in its 10th year, the MACA Cancer 200 Ride is the Harry Perkins Institute's major annual fundraising event, with almost $40 million raised in the past nine years for WA cancer research.
Of the $40 million MACA has raised $17 million.
The companies will each provide infrastructure and logistics support either directly or indirectly, by asking suppliers to contribute to the event.
Of the participants in this year's ride on October 16-17, more than 60% come from the mining and resource sectors, with MACA, WesTrac and Mineral Resources all fielding teams.
Harry Perkins Institute partner relationship manager Steve Currie said all three companies leapt at the opportunity to offer support.
"MACA has a strong culture of giving," he said.
"MACA non-executive chairman and founder Geoff Baker has been instrumental in steering the Perkins Alliance."
Currie said MACA was the first to sign on to the alliance.
"Alliance partners embraced the idea of joining forces to reduce the ride's event costs by offering in-kind logistics support," he said.
"All alliance partners value research and the impact it has on our community."
Currie said ride engagement involved all levels of employees at the organisations, from bottom up and top down but ultimately the event united the whole business under one cause.
Mineral Resources' support for the ride was driven by employees, with many having cycled in the event several times.
Their commitment has been recognised by management at a participation and alliance level.
WesTrac has engaged with the ride since it began and will sponsor the post-ride celebrations this year with an inaugural event.
