The Sandvik TH545i carries 5t more than its predecessor and is smarter.

The TH545i is designed for "intelligent" mine operations and improved productivity, carrying 5t more than its predecessor the TH540.

It features the Sandvik Intelligent Control System with data collection and reporting as standard.

The TH545i is automation compatible and can be equipped with an optional Automine Trucking Onboard Package.

It also has the integrated weighing system, which is available as an option on all intelligent designated Sandvik trucks, to help make full use of the truck's payload capacity.

The truck's standard engine power has been upped from 405 kilowatts to 450kW, allowing it to keep its speed up, even with the increased payload.

Its outer dimensions remain the same, allowing it to fit into the same envelope as its predecessor.

From a safety point of view the model has a greatly improved access system to the top of the truck and safety rails to help keep maintenance people safe.

Also, all daily checks can be performed from ground level.

Automation compatibility provides the possibility to move equipment operators from underground to other locations, which greatly improves overall safety.

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology vice-president product line load and haul Wayne Scrivens said the TH545i complemented the company's i-series truck offering.
