There are 16 LNG projects proposed for the state.
The BC government has put aside $C6.8 million ($A6.7 million) to create 1424 training seats throughout the state.
The places are expected to reduce the top 12 LNG-related trades occupation waitlists by 37% overall.
It means student wait times will be cut by an average of more than eight months.
For example, wait times for the electrical program at Vancouver Island University and Northern Lights College will be reduced by 12 months.
Of the 1424 training seats, 889 will be foundation – which are pre-employment courses that typically run for nine months – and 535 apprenticeships.
Canadian Education Minister Amrik Virk said the government was delivering on its promise to increase access to critical trades training seats for in-demand jobs.
“Throughout British Columbia we are re-engineering education and training to turn learners into earners,” he said.
