The agreement, which replaced Mastermyne’s December-expired roadway development contract for Anglo’s Moranbah North longwall mine, also covered services for Anglo’s Grasstree longwall mine and under construction Grosvenor longwall project in the Bowen Basin.

Under the contract, Mastermyne will provide services for longwall, development, panel support and infrastructure needs across the three sites.

“We are very pleased with this result and look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with Anglo American,” Mastermyne CEO Tony Caruso said.

“The awarding of this major tender reinforces Mastermyne’s strong standing in the coal sector and we are looking forward to building on this success with further contract wins.”

The contract also comes with options for a two-year extension.
