Russia to auction coal field

RUSSIA will auction the rights to a bituminous coal field containing more than 3.7 million tonnes...

The coal field, located in the country’s central-southern Kemerovo region, will be auctioned on December 17 at a starting price of 5.7 million rubles (approximately US$187,000). Bids must be received by November 10.

According to Interfax the area covers 0.41 square kilometres and has reserves of A+B+C1 coal.

The license will be 12 years, which is subject to change after exploration and a feasibility study.
