This E-Stop monitoring system for conveyor belts, according to the company, is an effective solution for mines because of its efficiency in helping get the belt line stopped.

“It eliminates mine personnel walking a conveyor belt line to locate the respective activated pull-key box,” sales and marketing representative Earl Beck told International Longwall News.

The device, which provides constant monitoring of all installed ES switches on a line’s path, is easy to retrofit to both pull-key and pull-cord systems. It also allows for a pre-start warning to be given line-wide.

The transfer of information is made possible by one four-conductor cable (+/-V, +/- Com) and the data gets sent to a central controller at the system’s belt drive via high-speed data bus.

Beck calls the device an economical solution, as it will result in a greater amount of active time for a belt line. CO monitoring is also available.

For more information on the device, check out the new release section of December’s American Longwall Magazine.
