Slow trading brings mixed results for US CAPP coal prices

Jacksonville-based railroad company CSX traded CAPP coal at $US64 per short ton ($A68.80) for 500t per month in Q414. The physical price was unchanged at $64/t throughout the quarter, according to Platts.

For the 2015 financial Calendar CSX’s CAPP coal prices increased to $64.75.

CSX’s financial calendar compared to the CAPP barge calendar 2015 traded CAPP coal at minus 75c/t for the movement of 30,000t per month carried by 20 barges each month.

The CAPP barge 2015 closed 25c/t lower at $65.50/t.

CAPP barge Q3 2014 compared to Q4 2014 traded CAPP coal at 75c/t less for five barges per month.

CAPP barge Q4 2014 traded at $65.25/t at five barges per month. Q4 2014 was assessed 20c/t higher to $65.10/t.
