Set for November 17 and 18 at the Indian Institute of Coal Management, the organisers said the clearinghouse was a milestone for the sector, as India is the sixth largest emitter in the world and therefore offers huge potential for market development.
“[It is] the first official establishment of its kind in the country,” the groups said.
“The clearinghouse will help develop and promote this market, providing information on technical, economic, financial and policy issues to potential investors and service providers.”
Participating in the event will be India’s Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and the Government of India as well as CMM and CBM individuals from financing organisations and business investors from India and the US.
Under discussion will be emerging markets for the methane, challenges and successes that have been realised internationally, and the latest in CMM/CBM technologies and financial opportunities.
The launch of the clearinghouse is being hosted by the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute. More information is available by contacting the USTDA.
