Pennsylvania-headquartered Kennametal said Wednesday that Kennametal will be the explosive North American and Latin American distributor, and will also distribute Krummenauer products in Northern Europe including the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.

Also under the agreement, Kennametal will supply customers in India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand.

The two firms already operate joint, but non-exclusive, sales and distribution arms in China, Mongolia and Russia.

Krummenauer, established in 1925, has globoid drums with non-continuous gear threads and half-round gear profiles, which allow for increased loading volumes over standard cylinder drums. The drums are also said to help increase coal lump size and decrease respirable dust.

Kennametal supplies complete cutting systems to the industry, as well as separate conical tools, bushings, sleeves, blocks, and tools with specific tip diameters, nose geometries, and gauges for light to severe cutting conditions.
