RCR said earnings of about $27 million would represent a 40% jump from the previous corresponding year.

RCR delivered record net profit after tax of $19.5 million for the 2010-11 financial year, while revenues totalled $607 million.

The earnings forecast is a second one in a month, with the company last informing the market that NPAT for the year would be about 15% higher than the previous corresponding year.

The revised earnings update is based on current internal management accounts and is subject to finalisation of the full-year accounts and external audit.

RCR expects to report its results for the full year on August 23.

During the year, RCR bagged a $600 million contract from Fortescue Metals Group to undertake engineering, procurement, construction and pre-commissioning work for the Kings and Firetail iron ore processing facilities at the Solomon project in Western Australia.

At the beginning of the year, RCR obtained a $30 million contract from BHP Billiton Iron Ore to provide power generation works for its Yarnima combined cycle power station in Newman.

Shares in RCR were last trading up 8.9% to $1.72.
