Current Joy Mining Machinery Australasia vice-president and managing director Mark Finlay will move to a new role as vice-president of project management. Finlay will manage the role globally.

“Mark’s leadership over the past nine years has driven strong growth in Australasia, as well as establishing the region as the leader in global longwall systems,” Joy said today.

Taking over from Finlay will be Brad Neilson, who will take on the position of vice-president and managing director of Joy Mining Machinery Australasia. Neilson’s role is effective from November 1 this year.

Neilson started his career at Atlas Copco in 1981 before joining and graduating to partner in Cram Australia. Neilson progressed through sales, operations and engineering leadership positions with Cram.

Cram Australia was acquired by Joy in 1998.

Neilson became Joy Australasia engineering director before his most recent role of sales and marketing director.

Replacing Neilson as sales and marketing director will be Brant Wright.

Wright commenced with Joy in 1989 and joins the executive team after four years in a global role managing the entry development product line.

During this time he assumed responsibility for leading the development of Joy’s latest generation bolter miner, the 14ED25, and the company’s automated roof bolting technology as well as globalising the 12CM30 Miner Bolter.

Prior to this role, Wright was the development systems business manager with Joy Australasia.
