Explosion claims 10 lives at Chinese coal mine

The explosion hit at 7:30am, when 19 miners were working in a shaft at the Shuijingwan coal mine.

All the miners were pulled out of the mine about five hours later, but 10 died from serious respiratory impairment despite emergency treatment, according to Xinhua.

Four of the six survivors are reportedly in hospital with severe burns.
