According to a report in AAA Mineral’s China Coal Newsletter, the installation of the monitor-net systems will cost 400 million Yuan RMB. The report did not specify the manufacturer of the systems.
Up until October last year, 902 gassy mines had been equipped with the coalmine gas safety monitor systems.
It is hoped the move to introduce the system to all major mines in the province will reduce fatalities. Most fatalities in Chinese mines are caused by gas explosions.
Just last week, 35 miners were confirmed dead following an explosion which ripped through the government owned Liangjiahe Coal Mine in Shanxi province, near the city of Linfen.
