Sedgman said the contract was for BMA’s Daunia mine in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, the second contract Sedgman has won for Daunia.
The announcement comes after Sedgman recently secured a $22.5 million contract to improve Middlemount mine’s coal handling preparation plant.
Sedgman managing director Nick Jukes said he welcomed the contract which would further strengthen the company’s relationship with BMA.
“The Daunia project is a very significant project for Sedgman and is an excellent example of the strong and extensive working relationships we have with leading coal producers,” Jukes said.
Sedgman will render design and procurement services in connection with the mines revised site layout and will construct and commission the entire CHPP.
Daunia is a $US1.6 billion Queensland greenfield mine development with capacity to produce 4.5 million tonnes per annum of export metallurgical coal and is on schedule and on budget to be complete by 2013.
