Called Cat Detect Personnel, it is part of the company’s Minestar System.

It is designed to identify people on a longwall or near a continuous miner and transmit that information to the machine control system, which then takes the appropriate actions such as inhibiting machine movement or warn of potentially unsafe situations.

It includes equipping each roof support with a detection unit that transmits data to a control system.
