“This agreement shows that when mining companies and the local community sit down and talk, native title works,” NSW Native Title Services chief Warren Mundine said.

The Wilpinjong opencut mine has an anticipated life of 21 years and will supply coal to Macquarie Generation's Bayswater and Liddell power stations for 19 years from January 2007.
Contracting company Thiess will build and operate the 10 million tonnes per annum mine.
