Update: 54 miners killed

AT LEAST 54 miners have been killed after being trapped about 500m underground in a coal mine aft...

The blast occurred on Wednesday night at Bharat Coking Coal’s Nagda mine about 20km from Dhanbad.

Four miners managed to escape, but on Thursday rescuers pulled out 30 bodies and said it is unlikely anyone has survived, the Times of India reported.

Mine officials are now investigating the cause of the accident.
