Vale Australia owns 61.2% of Integra Coal (including the Glennies Creek/Integra longwall) in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, as well as 80% of Carborough Downs underground, 50% of the Isaac Plains opencut mine and 100% of the Broadlea opencut operation, all in Central Queensland.

Of its 2.2Mt share of production, the majority was metallurgical coal at 1.76Mt.

During the year output at Integra Coal was impacted by flooding in the Hunter Valley.

Operations at Broadlea in Queensland have been halted since July due to coal port congestion.
