Founded in 1998 Inbye Mining Services places considerable importance on listening to customers’ needs and provides equipment solutions to best address their requirements. Development of Inbye’s own longwall coal clearance system is a continuous process, the latest equipment has many unique features to improve performance and reduce the users’ life cycle cost of ownership. Inbye also represents a number of strategic equipment suppliers and together we have the capability to provide complete longwall mining systems.

During AIMEX 2007 it was announced that Poland’s Kopex Group were acquiring a 50% equity stake in Inbye Mining Services. With this new partnership the global market is now open to Inbye’s Australian designed and manufactured longwall coal clearance products and with Tagor longwall roof supports Inbye can now offer complete in house longwall systems to the Australian market.

QME 2008 comes at the end of an exciting and eventful 12 months for Inbye Mining Services during which we successfully tendered for the delivery of Queensland’s latest longwall mining system at Carborough Downs Coal Mine.

The supply of a complete longwall mining system to the Carborough Downs Coal Mine in Central Queensland, along with a complete duplicate set of services and conveying equipment confirms Inbye’s place in the leading group of global longwall suppliers and demonstrates the confidence placed in Inbye by the Australian mining industry.

The Carborough Downs longwall system will include Australia’s first commercialised installation of the CSIRO’s Landmark (LASC) automation system for complete longwall face control. With delivery required by mid-2009, the Inbye team has an opportunity to demonstrate the exceptional project management systems cultivated over many years of supplying specialist equipment.

To service the rapid rise in our Queensland based activity, Inbye has acquired an industrial site in Mackay purpose built for the supply and overhaul of longwall mining equipment. The workshop is well placed at 55-57 Southgate Drive in the Paget Industrial Area, with all necessary transport and sub-contracted services readily sourced from nearby suppliers. The build up of personnel at Inbye Mining Services Mackay site is a continuing process, and full manning is expected by the end of 2008.
