The sale gives Kinetic, which lays claim to the largest bus network in Australia and New Zealand, exposure to the resources sector, with Greyhound Resources driving more than 5 million workers more than 13 million kilometres across the country every year.
Kinetic employs 4000 workers to move more than 50 million people every year on urban and regional bus services at airports and schools.
Other bus brands in Kinetic's fleet include SkyBus, Go Bus, Surfside Buslines, Sunbus and Telfords.
Greyhound Resources general manager of operations James Smith said the company would continue to provide essential services to support an important sector of the country's economy.
"Over the past decade we have expanded our footprint into key regions in the resources sector with our commitment to delivering safe and trusted transport, and with Kinetic's mass transit leadership we will continue to exceed performance standards," he said.
Greyhound Australia CEO Alex de Waal said the sale did not include the Greyhound Australia brand and business, which would continue to operate independently.
"The sale of the Greyhound Resources business will allow our existing shareholders and express management team to focus on the optimisation and growth of the express network," de Waal said.
The sale is subject to customer and regulatory approvals.
That going well, Greyhound Resources will be transferred to Kinetic in April.
