Sodexo will be managing the village attached to the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations facility.

Sodexo will support Ausco at four of its Stayover by Ausco villages at Chinchilla, Dalby and Dysart in Queensland and the Kingfisher Village in Karratha, Western Australia.

Through the First Quantum contract Sodexo will be working at Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations' village, about 200km west of Esperance, WA.

Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations general manager Scott Whitehead said he looked forward to seeing how Sodexo continued to improve the Ravensthorpe village and supported its residents over the next three years.

Sodexo's solution there involves about 50 service workers supporting an average 450 residents with everything from dining, housekeeping and accommodation experience to events and activities to support on-site mental, dietary and physical health needs.

Ausco executive general manager - western region Roger Bradford said it was an Ausco business imperative that the experience of resources workers was enhanced through lifestyle-focused workforce accommodation.

"A positive home away from home experience sees workers operating with higher productivity and safety," Bradford said.

"From what we have seen, we're confident in Sodexo's ability to support us in this."

Sodexo is contracted for five years with Ausco and has employed about 150 service workers to the more than 1000 residents who will be on-site at any one time.

The contract includes the management of more than 2200 beds across the four Stayover villages.

Sodexo Australia managing director Keith Weston said the company made the decision in 2021 to focus its efforts in Australia on its energy and resources portfolio and continued to build its integrated facilities management and food services for the country's resources sector.

"Our contract wins with Ausco and First Quantum demonstrate how we've delivered on this promise as a result of our growing capability in the sector to tailor integrated service offerings to companies and a customer-centric experience to workers," he said.
