Alcoa shuttering Kwinana refinery

UP TO 1000 workers will be out of a job at the Kwinana alumina refinery in Western Australia’s south by the September quarter of 2025 after US miner Alcoa announced it would fully curtail production in 2024 at the loss-making facility.
